President Sahle-Work Zewde said Ethiopia is working to address youth unemployment.

She made the remark during the “reversing the youth unemployment crisis” session at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa, which was launched in Cape Town, South Africa today.

The President began her remark by condemning the act of violence and looting of properties perpetrated against foreigners in South Africa.

She said the Government of Ethiopia has embarked into a very transformative and inclusive process a bit more than 12 months now.

Many things have been done in order to address unemployment, she noted.

She also told the participants about the government’s plan to have 3 million jobs for the next Ethiopia’s fiscal year

“I believe the future would be promising for Ethiopia,” she said.

The 28th World Economic Forum is being held under the theme ‘Shaping Inclusive Growth and Shared Futures in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
